Grounded van bodies 7.

I've been waiting for the winter to photograph this example, for obvious reasons!
It sits in the corner of a field between the A6 and the Buxton to Manchester railway line in Furness Vale, Derbyshire (SK004840) and can be seen whilst  travelling towards Stockport by car or train. The A6 is behind the hedge;

The framework looks to be for a long-disappeared sign, advertising what I don't know. The van itself looks to be by the double end vents and cupboard doors another Western Region example, but I could of course be wrong.

Paul.

Update, June 2015. The framework was used in the run up to the general election to support a large Conservative Party sign.

  1. Another great find. These remnants seem to be getting scarce now, seem to see them less often on my travels, so it's good to see this collection here on the blog.

  2. There's more to come Iain, I just need to get out and snap them.
