Recently whilst using my Badger 150 airbrush I noticed some bubbles appearing in the colour cup (the little metal cup that holds the paint), and it wasn't spraying quite as well as it used to. Nothing too bad, just a subtle difference. It pointed to an air leak somewhere in the system.
The solution was to fit a new PTFE head washer, part number 50-055. Once fitted the problem disappeared and the 'brush was back to normal. Luckily I had a washer in stock, and I'll be ordering a new one soon. The same part fits the 100 and 200 (but not the 200NH) so if you have one of those airbrushes it would be worth keeping a spare head washer handy. It might not be the solution in every case, but its a good start.
I measured the widths of the old and new washers with a micrometer, the old one measured 1.2mm wide and the new replacement 1.33mm. The original one was about 12 years old, I bought this 'brush in 2008.
Paul.
