Nonneminstre Models Coles Crane

I built this in 2009, from the rather splendid Nonneminstre Models whitemetal kit. It's of a rail mounted Coles Crane and sits on a Tenshodo spud motor bogie, re-gauged to EM with Kean Maygib Lowmac disc wheels.

The body can swivel on the chassis and the jib can be raised or lowered as can the hook, by adjusting two threads under the body that are trapped by a plate.

I've added a chain to the hook, to add interest.

The chassis is Phoenix Precision Dirty Black, and the body Revel Aqua Color 15 Yellow, both thinned with de-ionised water and applied with an airbrush.

The wasp stripes are Fox transfers, and the whole thing varnished with Phoenix Precision ready thinned matt.

This was a really interesting kit to build, nicely designed and just a little different. Nowadays I'm sure something could be knocked up using the body from the excellent Corgi Coles crane sat on a scratchbuilt chassis.

  1. Lovely model. I've built a simpler, and non-running, version in the latest BRM using bits from 247 Developments and Corgi.

Incidentally, is Nonneminstre Models still trading?

    1. Thanks Phil. I'll have to check yours out in BRM.

Yes Nonneminstre are still active, but contact them first.
