I recently bought an S.E.L. (Signalling Equipment Limited) saw, sold for use with toy steam engines, to go with my Mamods;
The main body is Bakelite.
It came minus its pulley, which I knew when I ordered it (it was cheap!), so when it arrived I turned up a new brass one on the lathe;
This was a very simple job, more so because I already had a suitable tool made to cut the groove (which is 1.6mm wide, to suit a standard Mamod drive belt). It was drilled and reamed to 1/8", to fit the saw's drive shaft, and a 6BA grub screw holds it in place. The size was determined by studying photos of other saws on-line.
And fitted;
Paul.
