Last Tuesday, whilst on holiday in Yorkshire, my father-in-law and I took a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from Whitby to Pickering, where my wife and mother-in-law picked us up.
An enjoyable ride which ran mostly through wooded valleys along rivers.
Motive power was provided by 75029 'Green Knight', and we saw Sir Nigel Gresley pulling the other sevice at the passing place.
I didn't take many photos, but here's our train at Whitby;
And the loco running round at Pickering;
The train was quite full, which I didn't expect as we deliberately holiday late in the season, perhaps because it connects two fine towns.
Paul.
