Buxton shed is no more.

Buxton shed has finally been completely flattened in the past week.
Here's a couple of photos from the footpath that runs along the back of the depot;

Part of the side wall has been left standing to fence the site off from the footpath;

 One line is still in place, here's the end of it behind the station;

Moving onto the platform for the next few photos. First up a ground signal for those that like that sort of thing;

Compare this view to the photos here and here;

This is where the oil tanks were;

Turning around a 150 unit awaits the signal;

Which has just changed;

Paul.

  1. Shame. Another source of employment gone, apart from anything else. Why don't they need it any more?

    1. I've been living in Buxton for over ten years and nothing has gone in or out of the shed since I moved here, apart from vandals and the local police.
      It was a stabling point for locos used on the local stone trains, but they're now stabled at Peak Forest.
      I do wish that it was still used, if only so I could do a bit of trainspotting on the way to the shops...
