Shameless plug time.
After I'd finished the Swedish chimney I was just about to enquire about casters when Stephen from Narrow Planet contacted me. He'd found a casting company local to him that he wanted to try, and asked if he could use my pattern so that he could get some castings made on a trial basis. I of course agreed, partly because it would save me the hassle of finding someone to take the job on and partly because Narrow Planet have built an enviable reputation supplying kits and parts for OO9 modellers so I knew that my work would be in good hands.
After the batch was cast (I can't imagine them selling in large numbers!) Stephen returned the pattern, along with a few castings;
I think that they've come out rather well, I was worried about the rivet detail and the recess on the top of the base, but it seems that I needn't have. Its actually quite interesting comparing the pattern to the finished casting.
Should anyone want one they are available here.
Paul.
