Road/Rail Cherrypicker.

I photographed this piece of machinery in Buxton on the 19th of November 2010;

Closer view;

The other side;

It comes with a dinky little trailer;

The rail wheels, note the drive band that runs against the rubber tyre;

The cage;

And finally, because its my blog, a cute puppy (as he was then);

Paul.

  1. A fab bit of kit! I wonder what the trailer is all about...there doesn't seem to be a driving position with the cherry picker except from within the basket, and I'm intrigued as to how it makes progress along the track, or the road for that matter. I would say perhaps the trailer was for someone to stand on while driving, but not in these safety conscious times! The puppy- super cute!

  2. The trailer looks to have some little ramps in it, presumably to help position the machine on the rails. From what I remember the only controls were in the basket. Must be interesting to drive!

    Small Dog is now four, and still as cute!
