Bottle stand

I recently knocked over a bottle of plastic solvent, which went all over my workbench. This was not only messy, smelly, potentially destructive and expensive but it also meant that I had to do a spot of unplanned cleaning. Something needed to be done.

A simple stand was the result, knocked up from off-cuts of 4mm MDF, holes cut with a 40mm tank cutter, held together with wood glue. I think it looks quite smart, the open sides mean that I can see whats in the bottle (ever tried glueing styrene with flux?), and most importantly it stays upright when knocked.

Not bad for an hour or so's work.

I'm quite pleased with it, I just wish that I'd made one years ago.

Paul.

  1. "ever tried glueing styrene with flux?" - Yes. It doesn't work.

    1. I'm glad I'm not the only one to make that mistake!
