ICM 1:72 Ural 4320 army truck - opening the box

Something a little different.
I've quite fancied building some 1:72 scale plastic kits for a while, particularly East European and Russian military vehicles. This should fit the bill, its an ICM kit for a Russian Ural 4320 6x6 army lorry. ICM are a Ukrainian company based in Kiev, this will be not only the first 1:72 scale kit that I've built for a long time but also the first from one of the many East European manufacturers.

One thing that impressed me even before I saw the contents was the sturdy inner box;

These are the runners for the wheels, load bed and windows;

And for the chassis;

The cab is a one piece moulding;

Quite impressive I'd say.

There's little or no flash on any of the parts, which all look cleanly moulded.
Instructions for plastic kits seem to be pretty universal in the way they're laid out;

It all looks very well designed, I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes together.

Paul.

  1. Dabbling in military modelling the sheer level of detail and thought that goes into military kits these days leaves me in awe especially when you look at some of the kits that are marketed for model railways where it is sometimes difficult to make out what is part and what is sprue! Have fum with the kit - it should be a nice build. Woody

    1. Its just a shame that military and railway don't share a common scale.
