Most of the detail has been added from microstrip, apart from the axlebox covers, which were turned from scrap styrene sprue, and the coil springs that sit above the leaf springs which are cut from that strange red styrene rod Slaters sell, with the reverse side filed flat. Some will no doubt wonder why I didn't use a section from a small screw, that was the original idea but as the piece is less that 2mm long and in shadow it just didn't justify the effort.
There are 27 separate parts per side. Which is quite enough thank you. Some parts are layered, which usefully adds different levels of relief to the frames. I still need to turn up a brass warning gong for the right hand side.
Its not perfect, but its good enough for this loco. The next job will be to make up a simple cab interior.
Paul.
