Mercian Models Festiniog horse dandy - now finished

I decided that it was time to finish this little waggon (see here for the build), so out came the paints. Festiniog waggons were painted brick red with black ironwork in the early days (1895 to 1925), and that's the colour scheme that I'm following.

As per usual I undercoated it with car body primer, Hycote red oxide in this case. For brick red I used Revel Aqua Color 361/37 Reddish Brown, which I rather like.

I probably should have painted the solebars black, but I've used a little licence and only painted the axleboxes and brake lever, simply because I think it looks good that way. Paint is Phoenix Precision Dirty Black acrylic.

I've really enjoyed building this tiny waggon, an unusual addition to my rather eclectic waggon fleet.
