Unlike the other two waste waggons that I've built, these two have outside framed chassis. The waggons are made up from three pieces, a body and two frame sides. One waggon has a steel chassis, the other wood.
I painted the steel bodies using a mix of Games Workshop Rhinox Hide and Humbrol Leather, over an undercoat of Hycote Red Oxide rattlecan primer. To finish I dry-brushed both waggons with a lighter mix of the same colours. The wooden frames on the left hand waggon were done with a coat of Revel Dark Grey, followed by dry-brushing first with Humbrol 29 then Revel Stone Grey.
Here they are forming a short rake sandwiched between my Maenofferen waggon on the left and a generic rubbish waggon on the right;
Coupling are also from RT Models. Much as I've enjoyed building these I much prefer the look of the other two waggons, its the inside frames that I like better.
Perhaps its time I finished my quarry Hunslet...
